SUSTAINABILITY AT BEX ASIA

RX is an active and dedicated driver of sustainability efforts. At BEX Asia, we strive to reduce our carbon emissions and improve waste management. Given the complex nature of our supply chain and the emissions associated with organising an exhibition, it is only by working together that we will be able to reduce our impact on our environment. We encourage you to embark on this journey with us.

BUILDING A GREENER FUTURE

Low carbon travel

We encourage all attendees to take the public transport or car-pool to reduce carbon emission.

Reduced Printing

BEX Asia has minimised printing materials. Show Directory and Floorplan are available online and we use digital signages as much as possible.

Selecting the right partners

Marina Bay Sands (MBS) is triple platinum certified by the Building and Construction Authority, the US Green Building Council, and the Events Industry Council, in addition to being ISO20121 Event Sustainability Management certified. It is also Singapore’s first carbon neutral event venue.

Reduced usage of plastic

We no longer use plastic holders for passes. Plastic bottled water & straws are not provided to reduce one-time use plastic. We encourage all attendees to bring their own reusable water bottles to refill onsite.

Food Waste Management

MBS  donates excess food to local charity partners. The venue is equipped with five onsite digesters which process food trimmings and plate waste into greywater. We select Chef’s choice menu to optimise ingredient use and minimise wastage.

Reduced usage of carpets

There is minimal use of carpets in the exhibition halls. In areas where carpet is used, we select carpet made from recycled materials, carpet that is re-used multiple times, or can be recycled into other products.

Conducive business environment

The venue temperature is set at 25 degrees Celsius to balance comfort and energy efficiency. BEX Asia has a No-Coat-No-Tie policy.

Recycle & Reuse

Recycling bins are placed around the halls to encourage recycling. Boxes are placed at exits to collect event lanyards for reuse.

Plant-a-Tree programme

In 2024, BEX Asia along with our exhibitors Camfil, ebm-papst, and Singapore Polytechnic planted 50 trees to contribute to a greener environment. A donation was made towards the Garden City Fund which aims to plant 1million trees across the island by 2030.

Stands & furniture

Our modular stands and furniture are from existing rental stock, and are reuseable.

The RX Journey to Net Zero

RX is a founding members of the Net Zero Carbon Events Pledge to make our company, our shows and the wider events industry net zero. We commit to being Net Zero by 2040 and to make a 50% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2030.

In 2023, we published our pathway to net zero, setting out our reduction strategy with key milestones for all our shows. Given the complex nature of our supply chain and the emissions associated with a show, it is only by working together as an industry that we will be able to reduce our impact. We are building a company of net zero heroes to take action and ensure a sustainable future.
